It is also associated with the freezing cold, with the image of icy desert peaks where life is impossible. In the folk legends there are monsters and ghosts dressed in white. Turning white can also mean sickness or even death.<\/p>\n<p>In everyday language, white is also associated with absence or lack. We speak of a blank page without text, a blank voice without timbre, a blank night without sleep, a blank bullet without powder and a blank cheque without amount.<\/p>\n<p>In Catholic religious imagery: White is the colour of the moon. It is a reflection of the Absolute. It is the triumph of the chosen ones.<\/p>\n<p>In the Apocalypse: &#8220;He who overcomes will be clothed in white&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>The pope wears a white dress, as do the first communicant and the bride.
